USA Clay Target League Releases 2024 Impact Report
Eagan, Minnesota – The USA Clay Target League is excited to announce that its 2024 Annual Impact Report is now available. This yearly report presents the impact of the League on students, conservation, and the industry. The League is the nationwide leader in providing clay target shooting as a safe and fun school-sponsored activity to schools and students nationwide.
“With 29 consecutive record-breaking seasons, the impact of the League continues to grow and grow each year.” said John Nelson, President of the USA Clay Target League. “Over 14,000 new high school and college students took their first steps into clay target shooting sports this year, joining the hundreds thousands of athletes and families that have discovered a life-long outdoor passion though the League’s nation-leading youth programs.”
With over 53,000 participating athletes in 2024, the 501(c3) non-profit USA Clay Target League is the largest youth clay target shooting sport program in the nation. The League offers trap, skeet, sporting clays, and 5-stand leagues to secondary and postsecondary schools across the country.
Highlights of the 2024 Annual Impact Report include:
• 14,300 new athletes
• 168 new teams
• Record 53,250 registered student athletes
• 29 consecutive record-breaking seasons.
“Coaches, parents, schools, and shooting ranges are the heroes that make participation in the League a safe and fun activity for student athletes.” Nelson said. “Students are developing themselves and their teammates into respectful, responsible young adults while developing relationships that will extend far beyond the shooting range.”
The report also took time to remember the League’s Founder – Jim Sable – who passed away this fall.
“The success of the League is because of Jim’s vision, determination, and kindness,” John Nelson, President of the USA Clay Target League. “Jim’s devotion to youth shooting sports, and his unrelenting drive to create a lasting, safe, school-based program resulted in the League being a beacon in the shooting sports world.” Jim stepped down from his role with League in 2019 to spend more time with his family. But his legacy lives on.
